Man O’ War Vineyards has announced its support to New Zealand’s most prestigious music award, the APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) Silver Scroll Award. The award winning Waiheke vineyard has already aligned itself with one of New Zealand’s leading fashion houses, WORLD, and the Silver Scroll Award sponsorship builds on Man O’ War’s mission to support fellow talented kiwi craftspeople.

As the only peer voted music award in New Zealand, the APRA Silver Scroll Award has been presented since 1965 and recognizes outstanding New Zealand songwriters and their works. Past winners include Wayne Mason, Sharon O'Neill, Hammond Gamble, Shona Laing, Dave Dobbyn, Bic Runga, Don McGlashan, Neil Finn, Chris Knox, Greg Johnson, Brooke Fraser and Dave Baxter.

“Man O’ War Vineyards first planted grapes on Waiheke Island the same year Dave Dobbyn won the Silver Scroll Award with ‘Belle of the Ball’ in 1993; there is a natural affinity with Man O’ War wines and New Zealand Music, both involve passion in their creation. As a proud New Zealand company, we are very excited to be involved with The Silver Scroll Award to celebrate NZ music and the craft of songwriting,” commented Lindsey Holcombe, Man O’ War Global Sales & Marketing Manager.

This prestigious event will be held on Thursday 13th September at the Auckland Town Hall.

"The APRA Silver Scroll is all about honouring the best, about recognising excellence and most of all about celebrating the art of making music. Man O' War Vineyards share all these passions with us and are therefore perfect partners. It’s a privilege to have them involved" says Anthony Healey, APRA's Director of NZ Operations.

With unique renditions of the finalist’s works and an opportunity to celebrate New Zealand’s finest songwriters and composers whilst enjoying a glass or two of Man O’ War wine, the “Scrolls” is undoubtedly the industry’s favorite night out.
